When a greater level of security is required, the MLE2200 is the standard solution and is recommended for use in public areas where enhanced protection is needed against vandalism and break-ins. When several organizations share an enclosure and greater security is required, the MLE2200 handles are designed to operate according to “AND” logic. This requires that both an on-site key and an authorization signal are needed at the same time to open the handle. The dual cylinder design of the handles enables them to be opened by two different organizations with different keys or key coding systems. Like the other members of the MLE Series, the MLE2200 is easily integrated into existing management systems. Enclosures in outdoor or publicly accessible areas are often subjected to adverse conditions. Changing weather conditions and vandalism are the prime factors that must be considered. The secure design of the MLE Series prevents tools from being inserted underneath the handle. Reinforcement around the handle provides additional protection against forced attempts to pry it open. “AND“ Opening: In order to open the swinghandle, power to the handle must be interrupted and at the same time, the cylinder lock must be opened on site with a key. Power is interrupted by an existing management system after authorization has been verified. The “open/closed” status is transmitted to the management system where it can be further analyzed for tracking purposes. With this level of security, the handle can not be opened mechanically unless power to the handle has been interrupted. As long as power is still being supplied to the handle, the handle remains locked.
